A Great ‘Whey’ to Get Your Serving of Protein

We all know that protein is an important part of our diet – the body uses protein to build and repair tissues as well as make enzymes and hormones.* Protein is also an important building block for bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. Our bodies require large amounts of this macronutrient to carry out all these functions, and since the body doesn’t store protein like it does carbohydrates and fat, you need to replenish your body’s supply of protein daily.

Many athletes consider protein an important tool in their nutritional arsenal, due to it’s ability to help build lean muscle, increase muscle performance, and help improve recovery after a workout.* But protein doesn’t just help to build muscle in athletes; it can also help to preserve existing muscle and protect against muscle loss as we get older, which makes getting enough daily protein even more important.

Studies have shown that whey protein is one of the most effective proteins available when it comes to supporting muscle growth.* Research also shows that whey protein has one of the highest Protein Efficiency Ratios, providing more branched chain amino acids than most other proteins.*

A whey protein powder such as Twinlab®’s 100% Whey Protein Fuel®, which comes in a convenient 1 lb resealable pouch (larger size tubs are also available), is a great way to get a healthy serving of effective whey protein. Whether you’re at home or on the go, whey protein can be blended with fruit, milk, juice, or whichever other healthy ingredients float your boat for a nutritious, protein-packed smoothie.
