Race your way to fitness

Let a little friendly competition motivate you to work harder

Challenge Duration: 2X over 1 week

"Excuse me!" "Coming through!" If you are familiar with these comments you are definitely an active person. Because these days the only place you hear this type of raging courtesy is on a bike or running/walking path. People passing up the slower people often yell out instructions and let you know they are on your right and about to pass you, so you move to the left and let them pass. If you are the person being passed this can be discouraging, especially if you are a competitive person. Or it can also be a motivator to work a little harder if you don’t like being passed while exercising. How you respond to being passed depends on your personality. But, no matter what motivates you, we all like the feeling of winning or feeling a sense of being in the lead!! There is nothing quite like being in front of the pack, even if only for a brief amount of time.

I challenge you to seek out a popular walking trail, running trail and/or biking path, pick one of these forms of exercise, and see how many people you can pass walking, running or biking. You may even be able to start an impromptu race with a stranger and, you will both push yourselves to the limit and have a great time in the process!!
