Team Fuel member, Shaun Eckhardt is a personal trainer and certified nutritionist, and spent years competing in the bodybuilding circuit. We asked him about working with a personal trainer and getting the most bang for your buck during your workouts.

Q: Lately, a lot of people are worried about spending extra money on things they may consider to be luxuries, like sessions with a personal trainer. For those people who do make these sessions a priority, do you have any tips on how to make the most of your time with a personal trainer?

A: Absolutely. The smartest thing you can do is ask as many questions as you can think of—and then give the session all you got!

Q: Because gyms memberships can get pretty expensive some people choose to buy their own equipment for their homes. Do you have any tips for buying exercise equipment?

A: The number one thing I recommend is to always try out equipment before you buy it.

Q: What can people do to stay in shape if they don't have access to gym equipment or can't get to a gym?

A: You can get a great workout just about anywhere without any equipment, you just have to think outside the box.
